My Sterling Jewelry is a Vehicle

-->
Jewelry is a Vehicle

My sterling silver collection is more than just beautiful handcrafted sterling silver. Being in the 7th year of my business, I have realized that Silpada is way more than the jewelry. I have this gorgeous collection with me that assist me in so many ways. I raise money for schools, for charities, for particular individuals needing to pay for unexpected expenses and even making someone’s day a little brighter. Each month, I make it a goal to use my business in a fundraising aspect. One exemplary example was to the Web of Benefit; an organization for women against domestic violence. My monies helped a woman get back on her feet and into the working world. Web of Benefit was able to purchase a new laptop for her to use.

I have done personal events and given monies to Crohns & Colitis Foundation, Celiac Disease research, cancer research through the Pan Mass Challenge for Dana Farber and for friends and even strangers in need to help with costly health bills and even to help fund a course needed to fulfill accreditation.

A beautiful story I like to share is my connection with Jean. I was a vendor at an assisted living  and didn’t make one sale. I did, however, meet someone who I will remember for the rest of my life. I met Jean, an 89 year old. She said she couldn't afford anything today but she loved learning. She asked about all the different stones and she said definitely it was a good idea to have such beautiful stones surrounded by silver.  She loved the turquoise and the lapis. I helped her try on the different necklaces and bracelets. She was wearing a housecoat but after she put on the jewels, she felt dressed up. She admired how I had my bangles in a bowl surrounded by cute mini plastic pumpkins. I asked her if she'd like a few. Her eyes lit up and said she knows exactly where she will put them so the sunlight will shine on them. She had a big smile on her face. Although she didn't look anything like my Grandma Sylvia, my heart was so filled and warmed by sharing a few minutes with Jean. She reminded me of Grandma when we talked fashion and how she said it's never too late to stop learning.  My experience didn’t stop there. I decided to gift Jean with the bracelet she was admiring. Days later, another Silpada “sister” friend and I surprised Jean with a visit.  Very surprised and stunned, she was so very appreciative. We were there for about 1.5 hours and she just talked and talked about her past. We took a few pictures. She asked me to keep in touch and how she could contact me. I gave her my purple business card. It was a day to remember for sure. I love Silpada.
